Needs Analysis Research

Needs Analysis document based on the research that was organized in each partner country. The results of the research were the following:

 

  1. Identification of needs, areas of opportunity in each country and analysis of common challenges among the participating countries.
  2. Identification of critical skills and competences in youth regarding to the use of new technologies, subject to being developed as a priority for solving the identified problems.

Τhe Handbook “Cyberanimation for the European Digital Citizenship in Young People, from theory to practice” is the result elaboration of the following elements:

1. Analysis and Data Collection,

2. Training Program,

3. Training Materials,

4. Experience and Best-Practice coming from Meeting and Local Activities.

This handbook aims to provide an educational and practical resource to all those young people of several parts of the world interested in the subject.

Training of Youth Workers

A training of 30 youth workers was organised in order to increase their skills to work with young people through the use of the Cyberanimation approach. The training consisted of three 5-day training seminars that were organised online. These seminars include lectures, interactive activities and exercises, theoretical and practical part. The aim of the training seminar wasto equip the youth workers with the necessary skills in order to transfer the methods to young people in their country as well as all over Europe.

E-Learning Course

  1. SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE

The e-learning course of the EDCyber Project on the cyberanimation is part of the training activity and it’s made of asynchronous and synchronous activities with theoretical documents and practical activities divided in 6 modules. The course is based on 6 modules:

  • Module 1: Active citizenship
  • Module 2: Community Building
  • Module 3: Digital media literacy
  • Module 4: Soft skills in the digital environment
  • Module 5: Communication, mediation and facilitation
  • Module 6: Practical approach of the cyberanimation

The duration of the e-learning course attendance is 40 hours divided in synchronous and asynchronous activities. Each module consists of theoretical information, evaluation learning test, infographics, papers and articles, and interactive activities for practical exercises.

After including the information required in the form, the participant will receive the confirmation via e-mail providing the account username and password to access the platform and attend the EDCYBER e-learning course.

Virtual Youth Exchanges

The Focus of the 3 Youth Exchange will be:

1. First Youth Exchange: Constructive Dialogue and Youth,

2. Second Youth Exchange: Youth and Virtual Communities,

3. Third Youth Exchange: Youth and Digital Citizenship

The 3 Youth Exchanges will give the opportunity to the Youth Workers to become, in quality of Youth Leaders, Cyber-animators and to guide, manage and lead the community of young people. The Youth Exchange will provide brainstorm ideas and the place for the debate and sharing perspectives on the issue of the project.

Socio- Influencer Hubs

“Social-Influencer-Hub” to the development of “social” and “high-value” contents for the social networking. The young people become “ethical influencers” and design the ethical contents of social networks (considering the socio-animation values) and will promote such values in the net which will be oriented to the Youth participation in Democratic Process. The valuable values promoted refer to the European solidarity, the creation of ethical network, the respect of diversity, the development of personality, the fair use of the internet, the fight against cyber-crimes, cyberbullying and racism. Every virtual community has organised at least one online campaign on a social issue that they consider important. The cybercommunities created in each country and the social media campaigns are all available on the EDCyber Platform at:

Local Workshops, from “virtual to “real”

After each Youth Exchange, the young people participating in the Youth Exchange, in collaboration with Youth Workers from the organizations, will organize and manage a 3-days workshop. The local workshops represent the tool for improving the direct contact and debate between young people, the community’s stakeholders and the policy-makers. During the Local Workshops, the young people will develop the proposals designed at “virtual level” and during the Youth Exchanges, bringing them at “real level”. The local workshops will be structured in 3 days and the activities will be focused on:

1. Direct contact of participants with the local context (local authorities, community members, youth, organizations, etc.),

2. Practical application of the Cyberanimation methodology through the EDiCYber,

3. Best practice exchanges,

4. Creation, improvement and enforcing of the dialogue with Local and National Policy-Makers,

5. Exploitation and dissemination of mid-term results of Project’s activities

EDCYBER Platform

A platform that connects youth organizations and youth initiatives at grassroots level throughout Europe and is organized according to themes of interest. The aim of the platform is to share information and stimulate democratic debate and common initiatives between young people all over Europe. Seminars and online activities will be organized. 

Through this platform, youth initiatives from all over Europe, are able to post their initiatives related with e-democratic participation and classify them on the basis of keywords in various categories. These initiatives can inspire the organisation of similar activities in local level in other countries and contexts.

The platform, in addition, includes the Social Influencer Hub, with the 6 EDCyber cybercommunities designed and developed at local level in the countries of the project. The EDCyber Platform is available at:
